Common questions
I have never done yoga before or very few times, which classes can I start with?
Most of our classes are open level, with the exception of Vinyasa 2/2 and Rocket, which are considered more advanced. What you start with depends on your desired level of intensity. For movement classes, we recommend starting with Basics, which is designed for beginners or anyone looking to deepen their practice. The nature of the class is a slower pace and workshop vibes, with a focus on foundational postures. If you want to take it a step further, Hatha/Dharma classes are great choices, allowing for a fusion of both movement and slightly longer holds. If you are ready to move and be challenged a bit more, we recommend Vinyasa 1/2.
In every class, teachers offer options, and it’s important to remember that you control the pace of your practice, choosing what feels best for your body. ALL LEVEL doesn’t mean BEGINNER LEVEL, so some classes may feel a little challenging at times. The key is to listen to your body, explore, and give yourself permission to fall out of the flow — it’s about progress, not perfection. Be sure to ask the teacher questions before or after class if something is not clear to you. All classes are described here.

Do I have to pre-register online? We do accept walk-ins, but we kindly ask that you pre-register online if possible to avoid disappointment. Classes may be canceled due to low sign-ups (so we’d love to know in advance if you’re coming) or may be fully booked, leaving us with no space to offer you. Pick your class in our schedule where you will be forwarded to our booking system.

How do I book my class?Hit the 'login' button, or download our 'KAILO yoga' app, and create your profile. Through your profile you can purchase your access-card under 'prices' and book the class(es) under 'schedule'.

Can I book for my friend?Your profile is personal, so booking for your friend(s) is not possible for our regular classes. They will need to create their own profile. However, if you want to invite your friend (and we hope you do!) we recommend to get them a giftcard — you can find it at the bottom of this page. If you're booking for events, it's possible to purchase multiple tickets.

Do you offer a free trial lesson? We don’t offer free trial classes, as we deeply value the time, energy, and presence our teachers bring to each session — and we believe in fair compensation for the work of everyone who is part of the studio. That said, you're always welcome to try a single drop-in class with no commitment to continue. If you choose to become a member immediately after trying a drop-in class, we'd be happy to deduct the amount paid for your drop-in (send us an e-mail to info@kailoyoga.dk to claim it).

Do I need to bring a mat?We recommend to bring your own mat, or you can rent one with us at a 30 DKK hire. If you purchased a drop-in pass the mat is included in the price.
If you have a monthly membership with us and your own mat, you can upgrade your membership to include mat storage for an additional 30 dkk pr. month.________________________________________
Can I use one of my clip card visits to bring a friend?
The clip card is personal and intended for individual use, so unfortunately, it cannot be shared or transferred to someone else. Each person will need their own clip card or a separate booking. If your friend is new to the studio, we recommend looking at the drop-in or 7 days try-out option.

What do I need to bring for my class? We have mats available for rent, but we recommend bringing your own. You're also welcome to bring any additional supplies you feel you need for a fulfilling practice. That said, we provide free use of props such as pillows, blankets, straps, blocks, and eye pillows. Other than that, we simply suggest wearing comfortable clothing that allows you to move freely.

Can I take pictures and videos of the space? While we'd love you to snap a photo or two to share your practice and our space on socials, we ask you to be respectful of others. Once class has started we ask you to leave your phone outside of the shala (practice room). Shala is a sanskrit word meaning Abode. It's a home where the ancient art of yoga is steeped in history, text, traditions, countless tools and skills, all of which we believe should be shared and experienced with reverence. So please do not make the whole experience about taking photos or videos. Within a shala the teacher serves to bring awareness and consideration for the practice, for yourself and for those around you. Feel free to take pictures before and after the classes, but absolutely no photos or videos can be captured during class.

I was charged a fee, why?
Our cancellation policy is in place to ensure everyone has a chance to take place in a class and the mats are filled. Nobody likes to miss out on a class! Please respect this by cancelling in time, otherwise you'll be charged a 50 DKK fee for no-show/ late cancel. How do I know which teacher is the best fit for me?We have a carefully selected team of beautiful teachers coming from various yoga backgrounds. Our teachers put their personality into their lessons and teach in their own unique way. Therefore the intensity and focus can differ from teacher to teacher. We recommend to explore classes with all of them to get a feel for who speaks to you best at what time. On this page you can read more about who they are.

I am pregnant, can I join your classes? As in all yoga classes, you practice at your own responsibility. Please talk to your doctor/ specialist beforehand to know if it is safe for you to practice yoga. For new yogis, or anyone looking for support and community during pregnancy, we would suggest going to our specifically tailored prenatal yoga course. For pregnant students with a yoga practice, you can practice as usual, just make sure to adjust your practice and learn the variations for pregnant bodies. If you are unsure, please ask your teacher.
