Unlock your Handstand Potential

Level: beginners/intermediate

Slamming your hands down and throwing your legs up praying for the best isn’t an ideal way to practise handstands.
Join us on these bundle sessions to take the guesswork out of your handstand journey! Across four focused sessions, you’ll develop a deeper understanding of the skill, identifying your weak points and learning how to train them effectively.
Each week we’ll dive into a specific aspect of handbalancing, combining essential knowledge with practical training. By the end of the course, you’ll have a clear roadmap for improving your handstand practice, with specific exercises meeting your needs and goals.

Week 1: Technique and Safety
Learn how to control the key body structures involved in handstand alignment and how to break free of the fear of handstands, to practice them safely and effectively.

Week 2: Entrances and Biomechanics
Discover an effective and efficient method to enter the handstand with consistency and control and gain a deeper understanding of the body’s mechanics during inversion.

Week 3: Balance and Strength
Explore the foundations of how balance works and how to develop the specific strength needed to expand your handstand practice.

Week 4: Putting It All Together
Apply all you’ve learned in a comprehensive class, working through variations suitable to each level. The session will end with a discussion circle to answer any final questions.

Handbalancing, like play and yoga, is less about the final result and more about the journey itself. These sessions are all about the journey.
At the end of each session, you’ll receive homework to reinforcing the day’s learning during the week. Rest assured, we’ll keep a comfortable rhythm with plenty of time for discussions, breaks, and gradual exploration of the handstand skill.
